Sporting trials involves driving rear wheel drive cars up hilled sections. The further up the hill you get the lower the score, the driver with the lowest score wins. Its not about speed.

Myself in the passengers seat and Martin driving the red jigsaw patterned 1500cc Crossle finished the day coming 11th overall and missing out on a top 10 place by 1 point. In the blue class we came 2nd and lost first place by 1 point to the winner of the class on 137 points. The day included mixed scores ranging between clearing hills and painfully scoring 10s (four times on the same hill!). The trial was a mix of “blasting” the car over wet slippery grass or “trickling” carefully up the muddy hills to get the best grip.18 cars turned out to the sunny trial.
